I figured a thread about news and updates in general about jerseys around the league is appropriate. We had something going on IJ but I cannot recall the exact name. This can be about any of the teams in the league.

And for my first post, per Frank Seravalli:
"We should call this change the Mike McKenna rule: Clubs will make available to players two game-worn jerseys for free per season, so long as they're for personal or charitable use, and not commercial use."
Looks like this is an addition to the new CBA that is to be ratified soon. I am going to assume most clubs will just have players wear 1-2 additional 1-game wonders during their jersey rotation.

I'm surprised at the NHL level (at the same time I'm not), that teams don't let players have one of each colour they wear, especially for call-ups, some of whom play only a handful of games and don't get a sniff of the league again.

I could sense those guys could be quite bitter about the situation and not want a reminder of what happened maybe?

They may not get nostalgic about having had their shot until many years later.

Don't know if this was every discussed on the old site, but assuming everything goes okay with the 2020-2021 season being started, apparently most teams are going to be wearing 4th jerseys (which have been called "Reverse Retros" on the Internet): www.icethetics.com/jerseywatch-2020Currently, 20 of 31 NHL teams employ a third jersey. The big headline for the 2020-21 season promises to be the introduction of a new series of alternate uniforms—what I’m calling the fourth jersey. Recent reports have suggested that teams will have special throwback jerseys next season. Icethetics sources confirm this new program, describing them “throwbacks with a twist.” I’m told that what makes some of the sweaters even more interesting may be the individual match-ups, which will take place primarily in November and December. Multiple Icethetics sources have now provided jersey descriptions that suggest the “twist” could be as simple as a color inversion (i.e.: a blue Canadiens sweater with a red chest stripe). Interestingly, a similar theme has been executed in a recent concept series by Matt Burke.

The link says the Devils 4th may be green. I think that would be pretty cool, green jerseys usually look pretty good.
Traditional Devils retro crest on a green jersey with red and white striping would be the bee’s knees.

There's a ton of potential with these. Colorado has confirmed the Nordiques and we could see cool ones like the Caps' screaming eagle, Pen's Robo Pen, Coyotes' Peyote. Leafs have two options that'll make me happy:

Some players maybe, but there are a lot of call-ups who know their role and their cup of coffee in the NHL is a story for their grandkids in 30 years. Like mitz said also, even those who are bitter in the moment might still want to tell those stories after time passes.

While I totally get that the league needs revenue and this plan was obviously in place prior to the pandemic, I think all leagues need to tread carefully with programs that are obviously meant to sell jerseys with three-digit price tags. Perhaps delaying this a year (or even two years) would be a good idea. There are a lot of people in North America out of work and even those who kept jobs and/or will be back at work soon could be making much less money for a long time yet.

If they really want money, how about some MIC’s? People would shell out $300+ all day.

I did try again with the Canucks a month or two ago, but they wouldn't sell. I wasn't upset given the current cluster**** 24 teams are in right now, but when the Canucks' season ends, I'll be emailing by sunrise.

FWIW from what I have seen in the past, it is mostly fringe NHL players or those who had short careers who are the ones who are looking for their own jerseys. They likely want a souvenir or something from their stint in the NHL.
