I actually had purchased a blank from the team back in the day and had it done as Skrlac. I no longer fit that size anymore so then I found a larger one on eBay that was filthy and the twill wouldn’t come clean at all, so I re-did THAT one as Skrlac.
And then I sold that one too, like a total idiot.
I do not like the fit of pre Reebok Edge goalie cuts, but those and Adidas I like a lot.

Yeah I remember all of that lol (especially the Uber-filthy one). When I called to order the black jersey (they had just become available), I had wanted Nittel, but someone had gotten him, so I just kind of blurted out Ahonen. I didn’t realize how airy goalie cuts were back then, especially with the batwing arms. Looking back, I wish I had bought the Russian guy with all of the consonants at the end of his name (Maxim Balmochnykh). Just to hear people ask “How the HELL do you pronounce THAT?!”

The answer would have been “just like it’s spelled”.

The answer would have been “just like it’s spelled”. I had to see if I could find a proper pronunciation of that one...apparently, it’s Bal-mo-schnake. Basically the crazy part at the end sounds like “snake”, but with an SH at the beginning. Correction, more like “Bal-mo-chnake”, but with a softer “ch”. Damn Russian is hard.

FWIW, typically the B-Devils auction either in-person or on an auction app called Dash. I do remember someone saying that the team did sell some in their team store at the end of the this season. This is why B-Devils gamers are a bit hard to find, but I have seen some for sale on the secondary market every couple of months.

Two in today. ProPlayer, size 58. I was worried it would be too huge, given that their 56's which I own are already a bit larger than a standard 58. I was pleased to find that it wasn't that much bigger. I only measured the chest so far, which is only 1/2" wider than a 56. EDIT: full measurements, now available in the Master Size Chart, reveal that it is only slightly bigger than a 56. Certainly wearable by anyone who can wears a 56. The future of this one is uncertain, first I need to de-stain it, and then I have to figure out who is going on it. I already have most of the typical Devils covered, so I am leaning toward Colin White, maybe Bobby Holik...I have some thinking to do. This one, I just happened to find in my usual size, already customized, with a player I don't have, manufacturer I don't have. And properly customized. Very rare for me, usually my jerseys require a trip to EPS. This one stays as is. 2003 CCM with the SCF patch.

Nice pick ups. I was watching the PP just to see how much it sold for. Good deal on it. Not sure if you consider Arnott a typical Devil but he would be another obvious choice. There is a white PP size 56 on Meigray if you are still looking for that size. It is a preseason Foster used in 01-03 with the PP bottom hem covered.

I saw those Fosters (I think they had a red one also), but wasn't really looking to put in the work it would take to strip and re-do. I thought about Arnott, obviously he got the big goal so he might be one to choose. I was trying to think, as you seem to have realized, of a guy who was more of a "good Devils player", maybe spent longer with the team, etc. I have always wanted a Colin White, so i am having a tough time thinking of doing anyone else on there. Plus, its not stripped, so neither the short name nor the single digit number present a problem in terms of covering stuff up.

I’m trying to find something to put Brylin on.

Just look at all of the names on that team that as a Devils fan, you couldn't go wrong with: Arnott, Brodeur, Brylin, Daneyko, Elias, Gomez (I guess), Holik, Lemieux, Madden, McKay, Niedermayer, Pandolfo, Rafalski, Rolston, Stevens, Sykora, White, to name more than a few.

That PP Devs is friggin cool. Especially as a size 58. Nice pick up. Thank you! I have personally found the ProPlayer jerseys to be very difficult to come across, especially in white. I have only seen a handful pop up per year, and almost always they are red. I'd have preferred a 56, but this 58 will work for me.

Nice grab on the Rafalski. He was always a favorite of mine. Guy had an offer from the Penguins and was willing to wait patiently to see what was going to happen with Nieds before making any decisions. Obviously Nieds went to Anaheim, and Rafalski turned down the Penguins to stick around the Devils for two more years. Stung when he left.

Rafalski was one of my favorite players during his time here. I had a ProPlayer Rafalski jersey back in the day (purchased when River City Sports had them on clearance the following year for $50).
My collecting concept now is to try to cover all of the following bases:
1. One from each manufacturer (or different material from the same manufacturer) over the years 2. One from each retired player (done) 3. Home and road from each Stanley Cup season (nearly done, looking at you, red CCM big block airknit) 4. Try to accomplish all of the above with as little repeating of players as possible. Not every jersey need be a superstar, role player types are always among my favorites.
There's still a few jerseys I am missing. Looking for them will be part of the fun. I should make a list, we have a thread for that.

Also, there is a part of me that wants to do a Chris Terreri jersey, but these ProPlayers are on the rare side and I am not sure if that's a good idea on one of these. I know some people don't like a goalie on a player's jersey, but its a size 58, its reasonably close to a goalie cut already.
Thoughts?
