I would guess that is the case. Its something that retail stores have done for many years.

Ehh, why would he just delete his post? That makes me look like the weirdo when clearly it’s him lol.

Also, this is why we disabled people’s ability to delete posts initially. We’ll be reinstating that now.

That’s weird. You shouldn’t be able to delete the first post in a thread.

And now, you’re not.
I’ll also add, if there is a way that I can’t block, and people start deleting posts that affect the site’s continuity, I will take action to stop that from happening.
Removing a nonsense post is one thing; posting a thread and then removing initial post messes with the site and I will not permit that.

He posted the same question on two Facebook groups and then got hounded by people asking what jerseys were in the boxes, pictures of the jerseys, and which ones he was selling. Not sure if that was happening here but I agree, you shouldn't be able to delete the first post of a thread.

Maybe that happened behind the scenes. Could’ve edited it and said “sorry I decided to take this post down because people were annoying me”.
But honestly, post that thread and that’s what people are going to do. They don’t know that he’s probably more than happy to keep them.

So what was the question?

He bought a box of new old stock jerseys that had circular holes punched in the tags. The question was why, and whether it was to prevent in-store returns.
I responded that is a common technique in retail for doing just that.
